Thank you to everyone that has supported us on our Business Awards journey. We are absolutely delighted with our win!
Today we celebrated our Business Award success with the children. They were very excited to see the amazing trophy and balloons in the office this morning.
We have had a lot of questions about how a school fits into the Business Awards.
We have objectives and goals like a normal business and we have to operate within a budget. Our customers are our children, families and community. We have key characteristics and points of difference, and we are always looking for ways to grow and develop.
Later this week we will be giving our school families a copy of our Business Awards application with further information on the process we went through to reach this achievement. Keep an eye out for this appearing on the kitchen table somewhere soon!
Below is a wee snippet from our application -
At Waituna, we do more than just teaching and learning. We nurture young hearts and minds, to help our tamariki become actively involved, lifelong learners. Waituna Creek School is truly proud to be the heart of our small rural community. We live and breathe our core school values of respect, relationships and responsibility. At Waituna we tailor learning for each individual child, acknowledging the value and potential in every student to enable positive, lifelong learning experiences.
The judges comments at the awards evening were -
“This business knows what success looks like and are passionate about exploiting their point of difference. They are dedicated and involved, passionate and caring, with strong leadership principles”.
